ADI (ASIA DISABILITY INSTITUTE) was
established in 1990 in Hachioji, Japan. It aims to promote independence
of persons with disabilities in Asia through;
1) increased understanding on the concept of independent living
and development of independent living movement
2) physical and technical assistance to self-help groups of persons
with disabilities
3) support to international exchange programs among persons with
disabilities
4) information dissemination and social education on disabilities
concerns in Asia
