Tips for Shadowrun in JIS

Unique Spots and Shadowruning

• Setonaikai Sea(The Inland sea of Japan)
  This small sea area (east to west length is about 440Km and north to south width are 5 to 55 Km) has about 3,000 tiny or large islands inside. Some of them are too small to live.
  Setonaikai Sea is not so deep, most parts of Setonaikai Sea have only 40 meters depth. So many marked reeves are.
  Many important cities along the Setonaikai Shore for example Osaka and Kure. So huge numbers of ships cross Setonaikai Sea.
  Major spots along or on the Setonaikai Sea.
  
  1. Kure City
     One of the most important naval base.
  2. Hiroshima City The first city attcked by nulear bomb in 1945. Too many people annihilated in a moment. Some of them returned to this awakened world as free spirit. But they don't believe their death.
  3. Osaka City
  4. Kobe City
     One of the important port of Japan.
  5. Omishima Island
     Here is a famous shrine. The Oyamazumi Shrine. This shrine has long long history and many magical items are kept.
  6. Honshi Rernraku Bridge
     3 chains of bridges cross the Setonaikai Sea from north to south. Northern edges are on Honsyu Island (mainland of Japan) and the southern edges are on Shikoku Island. (Shikoku Island is the southern coast of Setonaikai Sea)
  On the Setonaikai Sea, such situations for Shadowrun can be thought.
  
  1. Raid a ship
     Ships often have to go slow because of sea traffic jam. That is the chance to raid the ship and get target.
  2. Chase through the complicated sea.
     The Shadowrun for Rigger with boat.
  3. Small island
     Small and fortified island there is corporate labo.
  4. Hide in islands
     Someone or runners can hide the small village on a small island. Finding out or running away is the purpose.

• Kaso Area
  Inland of Japan lost its population because the youth go city. Such area called Kaso-area (depopulated area). But those abandoned villages are good place to do something secret.
  Most of this area , sercurity rating is neary Z.
  Here is a list what can be found in Kaso-area in 2050's.
  1. Kawara
     Metahumans, SINless and criminals often live in abandoned (but fine condition) village. They cannot live alone and they help each other for self-sufficient life isolated from public services.
     Their organizations look like a tribe. But their personalities are neary gang.
  2. Sunken Village
     In 20'th century, many villagaes were sunken for dam. But in 2050's some dams don't work and some sunken valley appeared again.
     Such village sometimes become toxic area and toxic sharmans live.
  3. Secret Training base
     Kaso-area is good for Ninja or corporate secret training field .
  4. Secret Labo with heavy security
     And secret and fortified laboratory of corporate may be here.

• Iturup
  Iturup Island was belong to Russia from the end of WW2.
  Japanease goverment had been calimed to return. Lastly Iturup Island got backed to Japan in the years of Euro-War.
  JIS found a high-tech city on the island. That was already old but enough to make up to newest.
  Today, Iturup city is an old cyber-city. There were many relics of USSR and Russia.
  If you know the manga "Ghost in the Shell" you know the flavour of Iturup too.
  *Notice. Kunashiri Island (near Iturup) has a big naval port.

Metahuman runners in JIS

All of Japanease Metahumans are under heavy constraints. So the players with metahuman runner may feel very hard to shadowrun in JIS.
Here are some tips to avoid the problems.

1. Disguise as Gaijin (foreigner)
   Notice that the metahumans under heaviest constraints are Japanease metahumans. But Japanease people are something lenient to Gaijin. (Gaijin means foreigners but it includes only European and American people. And Japanease people have many prejudice against Gaijin.)
   If a metahuman with foreign SIN, there are only a few problems as metahuman in JIS. The best way of Japanease metahuman is to get forged foreign SIN. (If possible, the SIN as famous corporate member is the best of best. Japanease people often judge one's social trust with what organization belonged.)
   Gaijin metahumans are sometimes bothered by police checkup. But if it's obvious a metahuman is a Gaijin, policemen may reserve the checkup.
2. As a Gaijin
   Another way is simple. Playing a metahuman from UCAS or other nation.
3. Disguise as human
   Elven appearance is neary human. So an elf can disguise human with some simple plastic surgeries.
