Today's Nikkei reports that Muji Online, the online shop of Japan's elegant but simple and cheap creative chain shops, Mujirushi Ryohin, has just been reorganized to offer its products year round in the USA and Canada.
It claims that "Derived from the Japanese phrase "Mujirushi Ryohin"---- meaning "No brand Goods" in English ---- Muji has steadily gained a worldwide following thanks to word of mouth and high-profile devotees like Catherine Deneuve, Johnny Depp, and Vanessa Paradis." KCSM streams jazz from Silicon Valley. Although you can enjoy it for free,
I am glad to donate a membership fee of $35.
They really deserve it. Because they do not rely on sponsors
and the music is just cool.
To access KCSM, please use the link from
the list at the bottom (Nov. 21, 1999)
It's just fun and relaxing to listen to music streaming from the Spinner Networks, which features a wide variety of categories, more than 120 as of Oct 9, 1999. It's Spinner Plus software is terrific, showing the title and singer of the current song and the next. The software can be downloaded free from the Spinner site listed in Ken's Home Radio (My List of Nice Web Pages)

Two Great Digital Cameras: One for You, One for the Kids (MSNBC Sept 3, 1999.) These two cameras are really on opposite ends of the digital spectrum. The Nikon CoolPix 950 is a semi-professional masterpiece, with so many features, I’m sure I’ll forget to mention one or two. The JamC@m 2.0, on the other hand, is a barebones device that’s perfect for young, first-time digital Rembrandts. They’re really on opposite ends of the price spectrum, but they do have one thing in common: they’re both great!

The World’s Best Radio(s); The CCRadio for AM and Cambridge SoundWorks' Model 88 for FM
(MSNBC Sept 17, 1999.) I read that a company called C. Crane Co. had just released the world’s best radio. I love a challenge. Being a radio connoisseur and a virtual skeptic from way back, I decided to see just how true that statement was. Guess what? It is the best AM radio I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying.
