Note on this Handbook: Since 1996, the Masago Dai-ichi (First) Junior High School (MDJHS) in Chiba City, Japan has been serving as a host school for several American middle school students visiting this country to experience school life in Japan, for periods from several days to several weeks each year. This 'Handbook' is an electronic version of a printed edition originally produced by joint efforts of MDJHS students; all hoping to be of help to the visiting American students. All the data as well as hand-drawn illustrations have been prepared and put together by students themselves. We hope it is of use not only to the American students but also to many other foreigners visiting this school.
