We are a volunteer group teaching Japanese to foreigners who live in Yokkaichi and the surroundings. We support their accommodation to the community as well as the furtherance of international exchange.
By favor of Yokkaichi International association, we borrow a music hall from them on the fourth floor of Chubu-chiku Shimin Center (see the map)
Every Wednesday 19:20-20:45 * No class on national holidays. Besides the class will be cancelled during the Bon Festival and the end / beginning of each year.

About 20 members have already registered. They have different occupations such as salaried employees, housewives, local government officials and schoolteachers. We are not professional teachers, but we've learned how to teach Japanese by ourselves and some of us have taken the lesson in private schools. We're in active helping each other with homey atmosphere.

Everybody who wants to learn Japanese earnestly is welcomed. The following is the list of countries from where our students come.
The reason why they come to us;
Labouring as immigrant workers in Japanese companies, |
We have some different classes according to the language level of our students.
For example, greetings and basic writing skills of Hiragana and Katakana are taught in the basic class. In the most advanced class business Japanese is one of our subjects. Each course consists of 2-6 students.

Our teaching materials are original handouts or commercial books. We basically don't teach anybody on a one to one basis and there is also no special class aiming only for JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). Every time a new student comes, we have a short interview and decide his/her class level, but it is always possible to change the class in case the level is not appropriate.
We collect 100 yen from each student each time. They are the only resource to run our group activities.
