A Brooklyn man had a checking account at a branch office of the Manufacturers Trust Co. The tellers knew him, but they didn't know his wife. The other day she came into the bank, accompanied by her small daughter, and asked to cash a check which had been made out to her by her husband. The teller asked for identification. A thorough search of her handbag produced none. Then she had idea. Everybody calls her little girl the image of her dad. Lifting the child to the top of the counter she asked anxiously, "Will she do?" The teller took one look, laughed and promptly cashed the check. |
