WHAT IS HAIKU?

I was fortunate because I had opportunities to learn what haiku is from
many people while I have been writing English language haiku for over 15 years.
Here I'd like to share some of the treasures with you, hoping they'll be helpful
to you as well.

First of all, let's start with Robert Spiess' "Speculations on Haiku". He is the
editor of MODERN HAIKU, one of the best and leading American haiku magazines;
he kindly gave me permission for this scheme.
