| 2002 | January | DOUG ALDRICH JOINS DIO(Z Records) Doug Aldrich has joined Dioand is currently in the studio with the band. All at Z Records office where extremely happy that Doug was given the chance to play with the legendary ex Rainbow and Black Sabbath singer. Doug will tour the US later this year in support of the forthcoming Dio release. Dougs involvement with Dio does not mean the end of the road for Burning Rain, the band will still appear at Z Rock 2002 UK and Canada as planned and recording will start during February for their new studio album. Titles that look set to be included on the forthcoming Burning Rain album are "Dont leave your love behind", "Licking the lap of luxury" and "Live for that Rush".The album is as yet untitled. |

| March | BURNING RAIN ARE FORCED TO CANCEL Z ROCK 2002 APPEARANCE!(Z Records) It is with deep regret that Z Records announce that Burning Rain will not be appearing at Z Rock 2002. Over the past two weeks the band has been searching for a new drummer for the recording of their third album for Z. Unfortunately despite finding a drummer for the recordings the band have been unable to find the right man whom would be available for the English show. With only a few weeks to go Z Records made the decision to make the bands new album the priority, the decision was reached due to two factors namely a] the band would be limited rehearsal wise prior to the show and b] the album needs to be completed by mid May due to Dougs touring commitments withDio this coming summer. We must stress that the decision was a hard one, as both the label and especially the band did not want to let their fans down, however it was agreed by both parties that the album was the priority at this time. It has also been agreed that the band will appear at Z Rock 2003 or before within Europe. Doug Aldrich's made the following statement : "We were really looking forward to Z Rock 2002 as we know it will be even better than last year, and we would like to apologies to the fans but we will see you soon ". Z Records already has another high profile act ready to take part at this years show, details are now being finalised and an announcement will be made on April 5th appearance. |

| July | NEW BURNING RAIN DELAYED - BUT STILL COMING!(Z Records) As many of you are aware Doug Aldrich recently joined the ranks of Dio for their latest album and US / European tours, however this does not mean the end of Burning Rain. The bands 3rd studio is near completion and will be finished once Doug's tour of duty with Dio has been completed. Keith St John made the following statement: "As many people are well aware of, Doug Aldrich, my partner in Burning Rain is currently performing on the Dio tour, and is therefore obligated to basically live full time on the road right now. So there's no telling exactly when we will be able to complete the next BR record which has been in progress since fall of 2001! I must say though that I am still quite excited about the songs we've written and the entire direction of the album. There are some very ballsy and hard edged grooves with aggressive tempos as well as a few poppier metal tunes and a couple of amazing ballads too! When the time comes, we will announce who's playing drums on this one but I think your obvious guesses are about as close as mine are right now! The release will still be with Z-Records. By the way...Did anyone know Cherie Don't Break My Heart charted number one two weeks in a row at a Berlin Rock Station?!!" |
