Simple Introduction

Yi Jing is created in ancient China, which has various aspects.

For example, we can understand it as one of the most excellent oracle method in the world, as practical philosophy of life, and as ideological basis of Chinese medical science too.

Wu Shu ( five technological groups of life-developing theories ) is a kind of tools for improving our personal life or fortune.

There are five groups of theories in Wu Shu, Ming, Bo, Xiang, Yi and Shan.

Group what does it study ?
Ming scholarship to study capacity and potentialities by calculating Dates.
A typical school of Ming is Astrology, Four Pillars, and other kinds of date-calculating oracles.
Bo scholarship to study analysis of good luck or bad luck of things, and its reason.
Yi Jing and its families belong to this group.
Xiang scholarship to study ways to know hidden truth by seeng figure or phenomenon.
physiognomy, palmistry and other figure-analysing oracles.
Yi scholarship to study Chinese Medicine.
Shan scholarship to study about spiritual development of human, including occultic theories and methods.

The organisation of Yi Jing is quite simple. See below.

1.meaning of 'Yi Jing':

Yi......easy to understand, simple to practice
            (all things in Nature are)changeable
(the principle "changeable" is )unchangeable and eternal
Jing....a book in which important doctrine or wisdom is written

2.schools derived from 'Yi-Jing':

    Zhou Yi
Usually this is what "Yi" means. When we want to say about other kinds of 'Yi' we
must call them by full name like 'Han Yi(see below)'. 'Zhou' is a dynasty of
ancient China when the origin of Yi Jing was established.

    Han Yi (Wu Hang Yi)

Fusion of Yi and Wu-Hang(five elements). Wu-Hang is completely different
system in China. At first, Yi Jing was organised in 770 B.C. Next, the
theory of Wu-Hang was established in about 300 B.C. And after hundreds
        years later Han-Yi was Organised.

More detailed story about Han Yi is on Wu Hang Yi's Page.
Mei Hua Xin Yi or Mei Hua Yi Shu
Mei-Hua means the flower of apricot. Xin means spirit with mysterical power. When most Confucians got emphasysed only philosophic aspect of Ji Jing, Zhao Kang Jie established it as new kind of practical Yi Jing method in 10-11th century in China. Now started constracting More Detailed stories about Mei Hua Xin Yi Tai Yi Shen Shu
In Chinese, this 'Yi' and 'Yi' of the 'Yi-Jing' is different letter. This 'Yi' means second(2nd). 'Tai-Yi' means the most essential and potential except Tai-Chi. It's a kind of numerology concerned with Yi. Huang Ji Jing Shi
'Huang' means the most important. 'Ji' means ultimately. 'Jing-Shi' means enlightenment with wisdom of Nature. It is a tool to analyse history with 'Wu-Hang Yi'. He Luo Li Shu
'He' usually is a name of famous river in China. But here it means 'He Tu' chart. Similarly 'Luo' means 'Luo Shu' chart. They indicate a kind of numerologic theory in ancient China. 'Li' means here logic. This 'Li' is a absolutely different letter from Trigram 'Li' in Chinese. And 'Shu' is number or numerology. So totally its name means like 'Numerology concerned with Yi Jing and He Luo theory'.

3.Other Chinese fortune telling systems:

Next two systems are not a kind of Yi. But have intimate relation with
    Yi system.

    Zi Ping
We call it 'Shi Hei' in Japan.
Chinese 'Zi Ping' means balancing of power and potential energy.
'Zi Ping' is one of the most popular 'Gan Zhi Shu'. Gan is called
'Ten Celestial Stems' in English books. On the other hand, 'Zhi' is
called 'Twelve Holly Branches'. 'Shu' means practical technique. So
we can say that 'Zi Ping' is a kind of 'Analysing method by Ten
Celestial Stems and Twelve Holly Branches for Human Potencial and
        Fate'.

    Zi Wei (Dou Shu)
So-called 'Zi Wei Dou Shu', we call it 'Shi Bi To Suu' in Japan.
Chinese 'Zi Wei' means polar star. But it does not mean this Oracle
uses real polar star for divination. It is another 'Gan Zhi Shu'.

    Qi Zheng (Si Yu)

'Qi Zheng' or 'Qi Zheng Si Yu', we call it 'Shichi Sei Shi Yo' in Japan.
'Qi' is 7. 'Zheng' means planet. It means 'Astrology with seven
planets.' But in this method we can use four more indicators which
is calculated using detailed planet position data. I think it is
partly similar to western astrology. But this method is harmonized
        with Yi Jing(especially Han-Yi) skillfully.

More detailed articles are now under constructing on Page of Qi Zheng.

    Qi Men Dun Jia

'Dun Jia' or 'Qi Men Dun Jia', we call it 'Ki Mon Ton Kou' in Japan.
'Qi Men' means holly gates of future. 'Dun Jia' means hidden power
of making fate. There is a lot of kinds of Dun Jia in China and Japan.

More detailed articles are now under constructing on Page of Qimendunjia.

    Di Li Feng Shui
We call it 'Chi Ri Fuu Sui' in Japan.
A kind of geomancy. There are a lot of 'true Feng Shui'. But I can not
agree with any of them. As Dun Jia case, there are many variations of
        Feng Shui.

    Liu Ren (Shen Ke)
'Liu Ren' or 'Liu Ren Shen Ke', we call it 'Riku Jin' or 'Riku Jin
        Jin Ge' in Japan.
'Liu Ren' means six methods of oracle. 'Shen Ke' means wonderful power
of prediction and analysis of future. If we have a problem and when we
want to make an oracle, we cast a chart by the time just we have had
        the intention to do it.

Yi Jing and families in Japan

In Japan, there are so many fortune tellers who can use the way related to Yi Ching method to make answers for their clients. On the other hand, some of our daily customs are related to Ji Jing and mostly we are not aware of it.
