1.General Introduction

The Chinese astrology is called 'Qi Zheng' or 'Qi Zheng Si Yu'. Qi means seven. Zheng means a star in this case. Si means four, and Yu means others. In this case, it means other calculated points for . Thus, The name of the Chinese astrology means, The Astrology using seven planets and four calculated points.

I've found many points similar to western astrology when I've been learning Qi Zheng. About this, some scholars write western astrology came in China in ancient age, and evolved uniquely. Others write it was invented in China originally. In any case, its organization is far different from western, even some aspects are likely.

2.The twelve branches and western zodiac signs

Like twelve signs of western zodiac, there are twelve branches in Qi Zheng. Branches are used in most of Chinese oracles. Although they are introduced as if a kind of pronoun of animals too oftenly , they have much more important meanings in themselves.

3.The ruling planets of the twelve branches

Each branch has its own ruling planet like western astrology's zodiac signs. There are six pairs of branches. Their relation is like husband and wife. Yang branch is a husband, and Yin branch is a wife of every pair. And each couple has their ruling planet. Element of each planet is the same with Qi the couple generates(couple-meeting of branches, trine, quadrangle-meeting).
