Foster Parent Program

In The Philippines, 1 in 100 children have a hearing impairment,
for children 0 - 12. (1990 national survey)
Yet due to reasons such as poverty, only 20% of these children are
able to attend school.
The Japan Ear Foster Parent, by sending a 36,000 yen scholarship
per child, enables the attendance of school.

Scholarship Details
(36,000 yen per child per year)

• School fees, Boarding fees
• Transportation expenses
• Uniform expenses
• Lunch fees (In the Philippines, they have a custom of school lunch
  called "Merienda")
• Teaching materials fees
  

Exchanging letters and cards.

• We are sent Christmas, birthday, and valentine cards from foster children.
• We also send letters to foster children.
• Translation of letters and cards is done by JEFP staff.
  

Payment of scholarship is convenient with "Postal Savings Automatic Transfer".

• From the Post Office "Paruru" window, yearly scholarship can be divided into 4 payments of 9.000 yen each, and automatically withdrawn.
  
• Withdrawals are made in March, June, September, and December.
  
• A JEFP membership fee of 3,000 yen is added only on the first payment, for a total of 12,000 yen withdrawal.
