On the evening of May 27, about a half of larvae stopped feeding
and were at rest. Standstill before ecdysis is called "min"(sleep)
in Japanese.
On the afternoon of May 28, larvae become the second instar. Newly
ecdysed second instar larva is about 6mm.

On the evening of May 31, larvae become the third instar. Newly
ecdysed second instar larva is about 13mm.
Bombyx larvae eat double amount of mulberry leaves day by day(except
"sleeping period").

At the night of June 3, about a quater of larvae became the
fourth instar (2 larvae at left below of the picture).
Newly ecdysed fourth instar larva is about 28mm.
