Grandma made this rattan cup this month. She made two and gave one to Mom.
Can you see rice cake, pon-gashi、behind the cup? I like sweet rice cake
very much. Mom calls this rice cake appon-pai in Awa dialect.

Mom and Daddy enjoyed this botanical garden and the natural history museum
in Nagai Park. Nagai Park is famous for the athletic field.

Yesterday Mom went to a meeting to exchange basketwares for something. And
she got many things. This picture shows some of them. Littlemom wants
these knives, doesn't she? It's because she just began to live alone
ten days ago.
昨日、ママは籐細工品と何かを交換するために出かけて、たくさん持って帰ってきた。この写真はほんの一部。チイママは欲しいだろうな。だって、10日前に一人で住み始めたばかりだから。

| Bean Cake オハギ |
Bean cake is eaten in Higan seasons or Equinoctial weeks. Mom wanted to
eat Bean cake or ohagi today. So she made three ohagi using canned sweet
beans and freezed rice. It took about 10 minutes.This plate was for Daddy.
おはぎはお彼岸に食べます。ママはおはぎを食べたくなったので、缶詰のアンと冷凍ご飯で3個のおはぎを作りました。 10分ぐらいかな。 これはパパの分。 |

Little mom moved into Osaka City yesterday. She found a neighbor dog in
my place. I hope she can go well with new neighbors.

Mom went to a bazaar of a nearby kindergarten last Friday.
And she bought many goods including these. I know her
favorite goods: bags and bears.
Now she is looking forward to bartering at the house of Koarasan on the
Saturday after next. What will she get there?

| Bone 鯛の鯛 |
This is a bone of a red sea bream or tai in Japanese. Mohican hair-style
bone is very rare, I think.We call this bone Lucky bone. It can make us
rich so we need to put it in the purse. But to tell the truth, I prefer
fish-shaped pancake stuffed with bean jam or taiyaki.
これは鯛の骨。モヒカン頭の骨はとっても珍しいと思う。 この骨を幸運の骨と呼び、金持ちになれるので、財布に入れておかなくちゃ。でも、本当を言えば、ボクは鯛焼きの方がいいなあ。 |

| Banana Cake バナナケーキ |
How do you like banana cake baked with a rice cooker? I liked it very much.
It was a little sweet and soft. Mom said this recipe was very easy. No
need to beat up eggs.
炊飯器で焼いたバナナケーキはいかが？ ボクは大好き。 少し甘くて柔らかくてね。 この作り方はとっても簡単だってママが言ってた。卵を泡立てなくてもいいんだよ。

This has been my favorite toy since I was first given at a pet shop before

| In the Zoo 動物園にて |
JJ went to the zoo with his family last week. He looks very happy.
He was feeding goats. To tell the truth, he gave them fallen leaves instead
of their food. They ate fallen leaves with delight and competed with others
in eating them.

Littlemom took cooking lessons for the second day in succession this week.
This topping was coarse sugar. After this pan au lait, she learned Indian
food yesterday. She always brings back four after baking lessons but I
can't eat any of them. I wish I were a man.

Mom keeps tolepainting. Even though I don't know about cats, this cat looks

And she is not good at painting flowers nor leaves but likes to try to

in the lower picture. They were painted by Mom this week. She is free now
but will be very busy from next week for about 2 months.

| Banana Cakes |
Mom baked these banana cakes today. She loves bananas but sometimes we
can't eat all of them. So she has to bake banana cakes. This recipe is
new for her. One of them includes chocolate chips and the other walnuts.
