Invitation to Fukuoka English Reading Club  (FRC)　                        Japanese Version

If you are a foreigner staying in Fukuoka for a while, why don’t you mix with a variety of people at Fukuoka ?   
FRC is a suitable place for foreigners who are studying Japanese to meet others.
It is desirable that you have a good command of listening Japanese.
In a meeting, you may translate the material into Japanese or paraphrase it in English.
We welcome foreigners.  Native English speaker or not does not matter.
How wonderful people of different cultural background can know each other and exchange their opinion !

We have a meeting twice a month at Fukuoka city (mainly Sawara civic center near Fujisaki subway station).  
What we do at the meeting is as follows,
(1) A member reads English materials (Time, Far Eastern Economic Review, Atlantic Monthly, Economist etc), 
     translates it into Japanese or paraphrases it in English and makes some comments
(2) Other members may ask a question about it or express their opinion.
As a result, English ability would improve, but it itself is not the aim of FRC.
FRC is a kind of salon where people of different cultural background meet and socialize together.

FRC has two principles.
(1) Members should be treated equally regardless of age, gender, occupation, status, nationality etc.
(2) Members should study by English, not English itself.  English is a tool of communication.

Fee   \ 300 /month   collected every three months        No club entrance fee
You are invited to FRC as a guest for the first visit.       We are looking forward to seeing you.
