Shimane Hands For India is organized since 2005. The secretariat is in Matsue, Shimane pre.,Japan. The first chance to start Shimane Hands was an encounter with Fr. Robert Machado from India at an international NGO(Asian Rural Institute) where is in Tochigi prefecture. That was 8 years ago.
Our counterpart Dediapada Social Service Society plays a great role in social service activities such as improving living conditions, building the community and general welfare for tribal local community. Although Shimane Hands started to support a little since last year, we only bought stationeries etc. for school students. As a engineer of irrigation, drainage and farm land consolidation, I was asked to do something but the request was not achieved yet.
We hope this home page make an opportunity for something new with people who visit us.
