CollectIN for Palm Collect information/data from Palm to database.

CollectIN is a shareware that input directly from Palm to database.

You can choose database, Microsoft Access, ODBC(like a SQL server) and CSV file. Especially on CSV file, and you can define a data type (for example integer, double, text) of column you would like to input.

You can design freely layout on Palm by using Windows machine. CollectIN can have some layouts that are included multi pages.

Here's show you the operation ...

	=>	2.Input data on Palm. And then push the save button.
1.Design view on Windows (You design this just once.)
		3.Push the HotSync button

4.You can see the Microsoft Access data that you inputted.

Normal operation : Repeat No 2,3.
You can choice a menu you designed on Palm. It is convenient.

CollectIN specification

Database	MDB file of Microsoft Access97/2000/2002, ODBC( for example SQLserver, Oracle server and MySQL server),CSV file
Maximum input items	200 It's included label data. normally you use label and input item, so 100 input items are guideline.
Input method	input directly, checkbox, switch button, select from popup
Input page number	20 pages
Data type	Yesno,byte,integer,long,float double,currency,text,memo,datetime. memo's maximum character is 1000. And datetime type is only used by automatic input time.
Maximum menu on Palm	dependent on memory size.
Maximum records	32767 records.(5 records on demo version) It is dependent on memory size. Please HotSync before comes to maximum records.
Pen Stroke	Input coordinate of pen-stroke, maximum number of coordinate are 500.
Handwriting image	Get Windows BMP image. Monochrome only on PalmOS Ver 3.1, depend on Palm on PalmOS ver 3.5 or higher.
Data file	Possible to access menu/data files not to use HotSync.
Barcode scanner	Support CSM150 on Handspring's Visor series.
Print barcodes	EAN13 , CODE39, Codabar and ITF
PalmOS	Ver 3.1 or Higher (PalmDesktop needs Ver 3.1 or Higher) I've debugged CollectIN on PalmVx.
Host computer	Windows 98/Me/2000/XP You need to install Access97 or Access 2000/2002 on Windows machine. If you use only CSV file, you don't have to install MS Access. Windows display size is over s-vga(800x600).
Include software	Menu design program on Windows, conduit program, and Palm program
Warning	You cannot edit your database by using CollectIN.
Demo version's limitation	1.5 Maximum records. 2.Can't change input page. (You can use only one page) 3.30 days trial. 4.Can't edit and delete data on Palm. 5.Maximum frame size of penstroke/image is 64 x 64. 6.Can't print barcode.

Simply usage

　 1. Push the start button on Windows, and choose CollectIN edit program.
Select pull down menu (File -> New menu). Select database type.

Choose MDB(MS Access)、ODBC、CSV file

2. Choose table from database you want to input

3. Select pull down menu(File -> Edit menu), and push the New button for placing input item
or push the add label button for placing label.

4. After placing the items, push OK button.

5. Set your Palm on the cradle, and then push the HotSync button to send menu data to Palm.

6. Tap the CollectIN icon on Palm, and then tap the CollectIN title on the left top, and choose the Select Menu.

7. Input the data to the input area.

8. If you fill up input area, and then tap 'Save' button on the top.

9. After you do No .8 operation, set the your Palm on the cradle , and then push the HotSync button.

10.Please check the database on Windows machine, you can see the save the data you inputted.

About Microsoft SQL Server

        CollectIN Supports Bit, tinyint, smallint, int, money, real, float, datetime, char, ntext, image datatype.
        You can access SQL server throught ODBC driver. Table that you want to input data needs primary key
        as dummy field. For example this field is interger datatype and check IDENTITY.
