  The Dipterist's Club of Japan(in Japanese)

   

  • The Dipterist's Club of Japan (=Soushimoku-danwa-kai) was set up mainly by amateur naturalists in 1996, and at present consists of more than 200 members, including the professional and leading Dipterists of Japan.

    It seems that there are the number of persons in Japan who are interested in Diptera and have much unpublished knowledge about this group. One of the Club's main objects is the willingly publishing of the fruits or data of the study, investigation, observation and collection made by them.

    The Club's journal "HANA ABU" is published two times a year. It includes papers and notes concerning Diptera from the members. The author's names, titles, and summaries of the articles are to be shown in English over the Internet.

    A general meeting is held annually on a Sunday or holiday in March. Field meetings are also held sometimes a year, visiting the habitats of interesting flies.
