Since Edo period, the most famous place of
azaleas is this Nezu shrine. People called
azalea garden in this shrine as "Tsutsuji-ga-oka,"
hill of azaleas. In high season, site of
the shine is filled with the vivid violet
blossom. Of course, many people come to view
azaleas.
It is said that the shrine was built in about 1900 years ago,

About 300 years ago, the 5th shogun of Tokugawa gave great
support to this shrine.
You can enjoy about 3000 azaleas from late April
to early May.
