Azusa's father, Yotsuga Kazuki(四加 一樹) was an cadet of the Galaxy Police. He was posted to Jurai where he was to meet Masaki Amame(柾木 阿麻芽) who was the daughter of the Masaki family, one of the four imperial houses(?皇家). There was a custom in Jurai that whenever a new officer was posted to Jurai, an event (or more like a trial) was to be held for him.
The event is quite simple, he must help a lady escape from drunken guys. If he succeeded in it then it means that he has passed the test. If he fails, he must go back to where he came from. As is well known, no normal person can match up to a Jurai warrior and this test is only to find out if the officer has his guts. However, not so many have passed this trial. Azusa's father, too, had to challenge that trial the day he arrived, however a small accident happened. He actually met with real drunken guys,
not the ones who were planned to be.. Fortunately he was able to help the girl, however for himself, he was done to a frazzle.
Those who were watching just thought it was another trial and no one tried to stop it. The person who finally helped him out of it was Azusa's mother. She also was there as to watch the trial with her friends. Noticing that the place where Kazuki was beaten was different from that she heard, she found out that what was happening was not the trial but an accident. After she easily got rid of the drunken guys, she asked to Azusa's father,
'Why did you not use your blaster?'
'There were a lot of people around, and I also didn't want to hurt those fellows.'
'Ha! Oh, there isn't such a clumsy one here who will get shot by you."
'Er, well that is true.'
'Well, after all you have helped out the girl so it seams that you have passed the trial.'
'Thank you.'
'But, I think you need to train yourself a bit more.'
Though being amazed of him, she admitted his will and so Azusa's mother began to teach the Jurai martial arts to Azusa's father, as an apology for the accident.
Since then, the relationship between Azusa's mother and father has started.
When the time came for Kazuki to go back to the post in his own planet, Azusa's mother gave up the place of the imperial house(皇家) and went with him, and there they got married. Serious problem it may look as one of the daughter of the imperial house has run away. However, actually it is quite easy for one of the imperial family to give up his(or her) place and all he(or she) have to do is to root the imperial tree (?皇家の樹) to the earth of Jurai. Though, it is not allowed for the generations of such person to come back to Jurai as an imperial family unless two of the other three families accept his return. For this, it sounds like Azusa's mother had thought a lot for her decision, which Azusa guessed, but the fact is that she did worry about her imperial tree but not at all for leaving the imperial family.
As one of the Jurai people, who are pirate folks, she was strong, too and got used to the life in the new world. There they had a boy, a boy who was named as Azusa.
A simple life it was, but they were happy.
