Subfamily Odontocerinae Wallengren
Two genera, Perissoneura and Psilotreta, were recorded from Japan (Nozaki et al. 1994).
Genus Perissoneura McLachlan
Two species, P. paradoxa and P. similis, were recorded from Japan. But, a taxonomic problem remains in these two
species. P. similis was regarded as a junior synonym of P. paradoxa by Ulmer (1907b) and Tsuda (1942b), but reestablished it as a distinct
species by Kuwayama (1972). Nozaki et al. (1994) pointed out the necessity to research whether these two species
were distinct or conspecific with subspecies or geographical clines.
