Manuscript Evaluation

JWASWC (Journal World Association Soil and Water Conservation)

Upon receipt of a manuscript, the EIC will determine if the manuscript is suitable for evaluation for the JWASWC-(Language, completeness, subject matter) and assign a manuscript number. The manuscript will be forwarded to an associate editor (AE), who will be responsible for handling the manuscript through the evaluation phase. The associate editor will select 3 peers to evaluate the manuscript. Each peer reviewer will complete the Manuscript Review Form (see example form below). The AE will review the recommendations and furnish a recommendation to the EIC. The manuscript will be returned to the corresponding author with one of four decisions by the EIC:

1. Accept as is with minor editing
2. Revise as suggested and return to the EIC to be published
3. Revise as suggested and return to the EIC for further evaluation
4. Reject and return to the author.

The manuscripts will be handled in a timely manner. All materials will be transmitted electronically. It is expected that after submission, a decision on the manuscript will be made within two months, and depending on the extent of revisions and editing, an accepted manuscript may be posted on the web site as early as 3 months. The expected time to post a well written paper that requires minor revision on the web site might be about 4 months. An estimated time frame required for the various stages in the review, revision, and publication process for such a manuscript is given below:

- 1 week for EIC to process MS and deliver to an associate editor
- 6 weeks for peer review
- 8 weeks for completion of editing and revision of MS
- 2 weeks to prepare MS and post on web site

PWASWC (Proceeding World Association Soil and Water Conservation)

Upon receipt of a manuscript, the EIC will determine if the manuscript is suitable for publication for the PWASWC-(Language, completeness, subject matter). The EIC may enlist the services of one or more WASWC members to review and/or edit the manuscript. When a manuscript is suitable for publication, it will be returned to the author for his final approval. Upon receipt of the final approved manuscript, it will be posted on the web site. The time required to complete the editing, review and approval should be about 6 weeks, but may be more. In some cases, manuscripts may be rejected, or require considerable revision by the author.

WASWC will attempt to publish every manuscript submitted to PWASWC.
