Journal and Proceedings of WASWC

The
JWASWC and PWASWC are electronic publications in support of the Vision and Mission of the World Association of Soil and Water Conservation (WASWC).

The WASWC vision is a world in which all soil and water resources are used in a productive, sustainable, and ecologically sound manner.

The WASWC Mission: To promote worldwide the application of wise soil and water management practices that will improve and safeguard the quality of land and water resources so that they continue to meet the needs of agriculture, society and nature.

To accomplish this mission, we are committed to publishing all papers (including but not limited to research, development, and review papers) that are submitted to us that further our mission and meet our quality criteria, regardless of their location of origin. Those accepted will be posted electronically on a website where they will be available for download or study by members of WASWC.

Papers submitted to the Journal of the WASWC will be evaluated in a timely manner by a peer group of experienced scientists. Those submitted to PWASWC will be edited and perhaps reviewed. Submitted papers to either publication may be accepted as is, returned to the author for revision following comments of peer reviewers and/or editors, or rejected for reason. Additionally, WASWC may suggest to an author that a paper submitted to one of the WASWC publications (Journal or Proceedings) would be more appropriate for the other WASWC publication.

There is little in terms of subject matter that will not be published if it is related to the WASWC mission and meets WASWC quality standards.

JOURNAL (JWASWC): a fully refereed scientific publication. Papers submitted for publication in JWASWC will be peer reviewed and either accepted, accepted if satisfactorily revised, or rejected. JWASWC is intended to be a repository of well conducted scientific work-including review and synthesis.

PROCEEDINGS (PWASWC): Not a refereed publication. Papers submitted will be edited and may be reviewed. It is intended to be a repository for well conducted professional work that is of interest to WASWC members. This may include reports, unreplicated studies, preliminary results, and other work judged to be of interest to WASWC members.
